Our Story
Garden Estate Manufacturing (GEM) got its start when our founder, Tony, saw a need for more high-end outdoor furniture production capacity in Vietnam following the 2018 US–China tariffs.
Before founding GEM, Tony spent over four years at Scancom, where he managed quality across four of their factories (aluminum, steel, plastic, and recycled material), leading teams of more than 200 people.
Later, while working in sourcing for an American outdoor furniture brand, he gained experience on the buying side, working with factories in Vietnam, China, and Indonesia, and building a full understanding of the international supply chain.
During that time, he saw a clear gap in the market: brands looking to shift out of China had limited options in Vietnam, either low-end factories unfamiliar with premium standards, or a handful of Chinese- or European-owned factories charging above-market rates with limited transparency and control.
Tony founded GEM to offer something better: a Vietnamese-owned factory committed to premium quality, fair pricing, and ethical production.
Every system at GEM was built from the ground up with that goal in mind, from ISO-based quality controls to fully in-house weaving, powder coating, and upholstery production. Rather than relying on touch-up teams or rework, we control quality at every stage of the process.
Today, GEM operates out of a newly expanded 15,000 sqm facility just outside Ho Chi Minh City. Our partners include premium residential outdoor furniture brands in the USA, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. We specialize in aluminum furniture, weaving, fire tables, and motion pieces, and we understand the engineering required to build beautiful, durable products that meet the expectations of discerning customers.
We’re proud to be part of a new generation of Vietnamese manufacturers: quality-led, customer-focused, and globally competitive.

Our factory offers both OEM and ODM for outdoor furniture. While most of our work is custom-developed for our customers, GEM also has a few collections developed to demonstrate our design, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities. These collections can be used as starting points for new programs or offered as-is. Each design can be customized across fabrics, finishes, wicker styles, and colorways to align with your brand, price point, and target market. Request our catalog here.

Yes, exposed aluminum frame furniture is one of our core strengths.
These designs are significantly more demanding to produce than woven furniture, as welds, joints, and surface finishes are fully visible and must meet a much higher standard. This requires tight control over aluminum fabrication, grinding, and powder coating.
At GEM, our background in large-scale quality management and engineering informs how we approach these products. We operate our own in-house powder coating line and maintain strict process control at each stage of production, allowing us to achieve clean, consistent finishes across exposed frames.
While many factories in Vietnam focus primarily on woven furniture, we were built to support higher-end construction standards, including architectural aluminum designs for both residential and commercial applications.

GEM’s frames are produced with aluminum; we do not make all wood or all steel frames.
We do offer wooden components, like tabletops, armrests, and feet. Frequently made with FSC teak from Vietnam or Indonesia.
Similarly, we have options like sintered stone, HDPE boards, etc. Feel free to reach out to us to check on whether we can make your product.

Our partners include premium residential outdoor furniture brands, wholesale/design companies, and contract hospitality in the USA (primary), the UK, the EU, Australia, and New Zealand.
We do welcome contract hospitality projects. Particularly for our sling chaise lounger, which is engineered to BIFMA, UL, and EN commercial standards.
